Product Overview
Description:
Rat cannabinoid receptor 1 (CB1) ELISA kit is an ELISA-based in vitro research tool designed specifically for the quantitative detection of CB1 in rat with a range of 78.125-5000 pg/mL and a specificity of 46.875 pg/mL.
Assay Principle:
The capture antibody is pre-coated on a 96-well plate. A biotin-conjugated antibody is used as the detection antibody. Standards, assay samples, and biotin-conjugated detection antibodies are subsequently added to the wells and washed with washing solution. HRP-streptavidin is added, and the unbound conjugate is washed away with washing solution. TMB substrate is used to visualize the HRP enzyme reaction. TMB produces a blue product catalyzed by HRP, which turns yellow upon addition of an acidic termination solution. The density of the yellow color is proportional to the amount of target sample captured in the plate. The concentration of the target can be calculated by reading the absorbance of the external standard method at 450 nm using a microplate reader.
Background:
CB1 is a member of the cannabinoid receptor family and the G protein-coupled receptor (GPCR) superfamily. It is expressed at the highest levels in different brain regions, and is also present at lower levels in most other cell/tissue types, including adipose tissue. It is thought to activate multiple signaling pathways, regulating energy metabolism and cell survival/death. CB1 has become a drug target for treating obesity. CB1 inhibitors may be potential anti-obesity drugs.
Synonyms:
CNR1; Central cannabinoid receptor; Brain-type cannabinoid receptor
Applications:
Rat cannabinoid receptor 1 (CB1) ELISA kit is used to quantify CB1 in serum, plasma, cell culture supernatant, cell or tissue lysate, and other liquid samples of rat, providing data to support a wide range of studies.
