Product Overview
Description:
Chicken C-reactive protein (CRP) high sensitive ELISA kit (62.5-4000 pg/mL) is an ELISA-based in vitro research tool designed specifically for the quantitative detection of CRP in chicken with a range of 62.5-4000 pg/mL and a specificity of 27.7 pg/mL.
Assay Principle:
The microtiter plates in this kit are pre-coated with an antibody specific for high-sensitivity CRP. Standards or samples are then added to the appropriate microtiter plate wells along with biotin-conjugated antibodies specific for high-sensitivity CRP. Avidin conjugated to horseradish peroxidase (HRP) is then added to each microtiter plate well and incubated. Upon addition of the TMB substrate solution, only wells containing high-sensitivity CRP, biotin-conjugated antibody, and enzyme-conjugated avidin will show a color change. The enzyme-substrate reaction is terminated by the addition of sulfuric acid solution, and the color change is measured spectrophotometrically at 450 nm ± 10 nm. The concentration of highly sensitive CRP in the sample can then be determined by comparing the OD of the sample to a standard curve.
Background:
CRP is an acute-phase protein of hepatic origin, whose circulating concentrations rise in response to inflammation. It is considered a key plasma protein that can bind to Leptin, and its potential role in regulating leptin's function in obesity is crucial.
Synonyms:
Pentraxin-related; pentraxin 1; C-RP; PTX1
