Description: Cat beta-2 adrenergic receptor (ADRB2) ELISA kit is a ready-to-use ELISA kit for analyzing cat ADRB2 levels. This kit has high sensitivity and excellent specificity.
Assay Principle: This assay is a two-site sandwich ELISA for the quantitative analysis of ADRB2 in samples. An antibody specific for ADRB2 has been pre-coated on a microtiter plate. Standards and samples are pipetted into the wells, and any ADRB2 is bound by the immobilized antibody. After removal of unbound material, a biotin-conjugated antibody specific for ADRB2 is added to the wells. After washing, streptavidin-conjugated HRP is added to the wells. After washing to remove unbound avidin-enzyme reagent, a substrate solution is added to the wells, and the color develops in proportion to the amount of ADRB2 bound in the first step. The color development is stopped, and the color intensity is measured.
Background: ADRB2, the β-adrenergic receptor, regulates the metabolism and phenotype of adipose and skeletal muscle tissues, and its polymorphisms are associated with body composition and obesity. Based on its role in obesity, targeting ADRB2 is an attractive target in anti-obesity drug development.
