Product Overview
Description:
Bovine lipoprotein lipase (LPL) ELISA kit (3.12-200 ng/mL) is an ELISA-based in vitro research tool designed specifically for the quantitative detection of LPL in porcine samples with a range of 3.12-200 ng/mL and a minimum detectable dose (sensitivity) of <0.6 ng/mL. The kit is highly sensitive and easy to use.
Assay Principle:
This kit utilizes the double-antibody sandwich ELISA technique. The microplate is pre-coated with an anti-bovine LPL monoclonal antibody, and the detection antibody is a biotinylated polyclonal antibody. Samples and biotinylated antibodies are added to the ELISA plate wells and washed with PBS or TBS. Subsequently, avidin-peroxidase conjugates are introduced. Following a thorough wash with PBS or TBS, TMB substrate is added for coloration. TMB reacts to form a blue product through peroxidase activity, which shifts to yellow upon adding the stop solution (color reagent C). The color intensity is positively correlated with the concentration of the target analyte in the sample.
Background:
LPL is an enzyme belonging to the lipoprotein lipase family. Its primary function is to break down triglycerides (a type of fat) in the blood. Specifically, LPL hydrolyzes triglycerides present in circulating lipoproteins such as chylomicrons and very low-density lipoproteins (VLDL). The free fatty acids and monoglycerides released during this process can be utilized by cells to generate energy or stored for later use. LPL's direct relevance to obesity research lies in its pivotal role in fat storage and metabolism. Given its central function in lipid metabolism, LPL has emerged as a key biological factor in obesity studies.
