Product Overview
Description:
Bovine beta-endorphin (BEP) ELISA kit is an ELISA-based in vitro research tool designed specifically for the quantitative detection of BEP in bovine with a range of 15.625-1000 pg/mL and a specificity of 4.89 pg/mL.
Assay Principle:
The microtiter plate provided in this kit is pre-coated with an antibody specific for BEP. Standards or samples are then added to the appropriate microtiter plate wells along with the biotin-conjugated BEP-specific antibody preparation. Avidin conjugated to horseradish peroxidase (HRP) is then added to each microplate well and incubated. Upon addition of TMB substrate solution, only wells containing BEP, biotin-conjugated antibody, and enzyme-conjugated avidin will show a color change. The enzyme-substrate reaction is terminated by the addition of sulfuric acid solution, and the color change is measured spectrophotometrically at 450 nm ± 10 nm. The concentration of BEP in the sample is then determined by comparing the OD of the sample to a standard curve.
Background:
BEP is an opioid peptide derived from POMC, produced in the pituitary and hypothalamus, which acts as a neurotransmitter to modulate pain, mood, and other functions.
Synonyms:
Beta EP; b-EP; bEP
Applications:
Bovine beta-endorphin (BEP) ELISA kit is used to quantify BEP in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell lysates, cell culture supernates, and other biological fluid samples of bovine, providing data to support a wide range of studies.
