Product Overview

Description: AdipoUpX™ Human LPL MMLV Particle (Overexpression) is a high-titer MMLV particle designed for the efficient and stable overexpression of the human LPL gene. Lipoprotein lipase is central to the hydrolysis of triglycerides and the partitioning of fatty acids between muscles and fat. This MMLV system is a perfect tool for investigating lipid clearance mechanisms in establishing stable adipocyte or muscle cell models. The viral system features a modular design for high flexibility, and all products undergo rigorous QC screening, including titer and mycoplasma detection.

Handling Notes: Due to their high sensitivity to temperature fluctuations and damaging freeze-thaw cycles, viral particles should be aliquoted into low-protein-binding tubes immediately upon receipt to maintain titer and product integrity. This procedure must be conducted within a biosafety cabinet.

Summary: LPL encodes lipoprotein lipase, an enzyme expressed predominantly in the heart, muscle, and adipose tissue. LPL functions as an active homodimer and performs a dual critical role in lipid metabolism: acting as a triglyceride hydrolase (breaking down triglycerides in circulating lipoproteins) and serving as a ligand or bridging factor for receptor-mediated lipoprotein uptake.
