Description: AdipoUpX™ Human UCP1 MMLV Particle (Overexpression) is a powerful gene delivery tool designed for the stable overexpression of the human UCP1 gene. This hallmark protein of brown fat is the primary driver of non-shivering thermogenesis. Due to its stable integration into the genome, this MMLV particle is perfect for establishing stable adipocyte lines to study browning and energy dissipation. Summary: UCP1 encodes a mitochondrial uncoupling protein that plays a central role in thermogenesis. It belongs to the mitochondrial anion carrier protein (MACP) family and uncouples oxidative phosphorylation from ATP synthesis, allowing energy to be released as heat via proton leak.
