Description: AdipoUpX™ Human KIDINS220 MMLV Particle (Overexpression) is a powerful gene delivery tool designed for the stable overexpression of the human KIDINS220 gene. Handling Notes: Due to their high sensitivity to temperature fluctuations and damaging freeze-thaw cycles, viral particles should be aliquoted into low-protein-binding tubes immediately upon receipt to maintain titer and product integrity. This procedure must be conducted within a biosafety cabinet.

Summary: KIDINS220 (also known as ARMS) is a transmembrane scaffolding protein preferentially expressed in the nervous system. It acts as a central hub, interacting with membrane receptors, cytosolic signaling components, and cytoskeletal elements. This function allows KIDINS220 to mediate crosstalk between the neurotrophin signaling pathway and other intracellular cascades, thereby controlling neuronal survival, differentiation (axon/dendrite formation), and synaptic plasticity. Aberrant expression is implicated in neuropsychiatric disorders and neurodegenerative diseases like Alzheimer's. Specific mutations cause a syndrome defined by spastic paraplegia, intellectual disability, nystagmus, and obesity.
