Product Overview
Description:
Rat endothelial lipase (EL) ELISA kit (0.156-10 ng/mL) is an ELISA-based in vitro research tool designed specifically for the quantitative detection of EL in rat samples with a range of 0.156-10 ng/mL and a minimum detectable dose (sensitivity) of 0.086 ng/mL. The kit is highly sensitive and easy to use.
Assay Principle:
The ELISA analytical biochemical technique is based on EL antibody-EL antigen interactions (immunosorbency) and an HRP colorimetric detection system to detect EL antigen targets in samples.
Background:
EL is a lipase primarily expressed in vascular endothelial cells. Its link to obesity stems from its potent influence on HDL metabolism: Similar to HL, EL primarily hydrolyzes phospholipids within HDL. Elevated EL activity leads to a significant reduction in HDL levels, impairing cholesterol reverse transport. Given that low HDL levels are a common feature of elevated cardiovascular risk in obese and metabolic syndrome patients, EL activity is considered a key enzyme regulating dyslipidemia and obesity-related complications.
Synonyms:
Lipase G, Endothelial type; Endothelial lipase isoform 2; EDL; LIPG; Endothelial cell-derived lipase
