Product Overview
Description:
Porcine growth hormone (GH) ELISA kit is an ELISA-based in vitro research tool designed specifically for the quantitative detection of GH in porcine samples with a minimum detectable dose (sensitivity) of 0.1 ng/mL. The kit is highly sensitive and easy to use.
Assay Principle:
This GH ELISA kit applies a competitive immunoassay utilizing a polyclonal anti-GH antibody and a GH-HRP conjugate. Samples and buffer are incubated with the GH-HRP conjugate in pre-coated plates for one hour, allowing them to compete for limited antibody binding sites. After washing the wells five times, an HRP substrate is added to form a blue complex, which turns yellow upon adding the stop solution. The absorbance is measured at 450 nm. The intensity is inversely proportional to the GH concentration. Sample concentrations are interpolated from a standard curve relating O.D. to standard concentrations.
Background:
Growth hormone (GH) is a crucial endocrine hormone that plays a key role in growth regulation and metabolic control. It primarily promotes bodily growth by stimulating the liver and other tissues to secrete insulin-like growth factor-1 (IGF-1), while also enhancing amino acid uptake and protein synthesis. Deficiencies in GH can lead to growth hormone deficiency disorders, such as dwarfism. Research indicates that GH induces lipolysis through direct lipolytic effects in adipose tissue and influences obesity to a certain extent.
Synonyms:
GH1; GH-N; GHN; hGH-N; Somatotropin; Hygetropin; Jintropin; Kigtropin; Pituitary growth hormone; Growth hormone, normal
Applications:
Porcine growth hormone (GH) ELISA kit is used to quantify GH in serum, plasma, cell culture supernatants, body fluid, and tissue homogenate of porcine, providing data to support research in a wide range of areas, including developmental biology, obesity, endocrinology, neuro science, metabolism, and others.
