Product Overview
Description:
Porcine adrenocorticotropic hormone (ACTH) ELISA kit (15.6-1000 pg/mL) is a ready-to-use ELISA kit for analyzing porcine ACTH levels with a detection range of 15.6-1000 pg/mL and a sensitivity of 5 pg/mL.
Assay Principle:
The double sandwich ELISA technique is used in this experiment, and the ELISA kit provided is a typical double sandwich ELISA kit. The pre-coated antibody is a monoclonal antibody against porcine ACTH, and the detection antibody is a biotin-labeled polyclonal antibody. Samples and biotin-labeled antibodies are added to the ELISA plate wells and rinsed with PBS or TBS. Avidin-peroxidase conjugate is then sequentially added to the ELISA wells; the reactants are thoroughly rinsed with PBS or TBS and then colored with TMB substrate. TMB turns blue under the catalysis of peroxidase and finally turns yellow in the presence of acid. The shade of color is positively correlated with the detection factor in the sample.
Background:
ACTH stimulates the adrenal glands to release cortisol. Defects in POMC may be associated with susceptibility to obesity (OBESITY). It is a condition characterized by an increase in body weight beyond the limitations of skeletal and physical requirements, as a result of excessive accumulation of body fat. Defects in POMC are the cause of pro-opiomelanocortinin deficiency (POMCD). Affected individuals present early-onset obesity, adrenal insufficiency, and red hair.
Synonyms:
ACTH; Corticotropin; Adrenocorticotropin; Adrenocorticotropic hormone; Pomc1; Pomc-1; Beta-LPH; AlphaMSH; beta-MSH; Gamma-LPH; Alpha-MSH; Gamma-MSH
Applications:
Porcine adrenocorticotropic hormone (ACTH) ELISA kit (15.6-1000 pg/mL) is designed for the in vitro quantitative analysis of ACTH levels in porcine serum, plasma, cell culture supernatant, organizations in the natural and recombinant ACTH concentration samples.
