Product Overview
Description:
Pig fatty-acid amide hydrolase (FAAH) ELISA kit is an ELISA-based in vitro research tool designed specifically for the quantitative detection of FAAH in pig, which is highly specific, sensitive, and easy to use.
Assay Principle:
An antibody specific for FAAH has been pre-coated on a microtiter plate. Standards and samples are pipetted into the wells, and any FAAH present is bound by the immobilized antibody. After removal of unbound material, a biotin-conjugated antibody specific for FAAH is added to the wells. After washing, streptavidin-conjugated horseradish peroxidase (HRP) is added to the wells. After washing to remove unbound avidin-enzyme reagent, a substrate solution is added to the wells, and the color is developed proportionally to the amount of FAAH bound in the first step. The color development is stopped, and the intensity of the color is measured.
Background:
FAAH degrades bioactive fatty acid amides into corresponding acids, thereby terminating the signaling function of these molecules. It participates in neural signaling pathways involved in regulating feeding and is associated with obesity.
Synonyms:
FAAH-1; Anandamide amidohydrolase 1; Oleamide hydrolase 1; EC 3.5.1.99
