Product Overview
Description:
Mouse neuropeptide Y receptor Y5 (NPY5R) ELISA kit-Quantitative sandwich is an ELISA-based in vitro research tool designed specifically for the quantitative detection of NPY5R in mice samples with a range of 0.156-10 ng/mL and a minimum detectable dose (sensitivity) of 0.057 ng/mL. The kit is highly sensitive and easy to use.
Assay Principle:
The provided microtiter plate is pre-immobilized with an antibody specific to NPY5R. Standards or samples are added to the appropriate microtiter wells, followed by the addition of a biotin-conjugated detection antibody specific for NPY5R. Subsequently, avidin-conjugated HRP is introduced to each well and incubated. After the TMB substrate is added, color development occurs exclusively in wells containing the complete NPY5R sandwich. The reaction is halted by the addition of a sulphuric acid solution, and the absorbance is measured at 450 nm ± 10 nm. The concentration of NPY5R in the specimens is determined by mapping the O.D. values against the established standard curve.
Background:
NPY5R is a G protein-coupled receptor that binds to neuropeptide Y (NPY) and peptide YY (PYY). These are key signaling molecules regulating appetite within the brain. When NPY5R is activated, it inhibits adenylate cyclase activity via its G protein, thereby triggering cellular responses. As a central control point regulating appetite and feeding behavior, it serves as a critical target in obesity research.

NPY-Y5 receptor
