Product Overview

Description: Chicken adipose triglyceride lipase (ATGL) ELISA kit is an ELISA-based in vitro research tool designed specifically for the quantitative detection of ATGL in chicken.
Assay Principle: An antibody specific for ATGL has been pre-coated on a microtiter plate. Standards and samples are pipetted into the wells, and any ATGL present is bound by the immobilized antibody. After removal of unbound material, a biotin-conjugated antibody specific for ATGL is added to the wells. After washing, streptavidin-conjugated horseradish peroxidase (HRP) is added to the wells. After washing to remove unbound avidin-enzyme reagent, a substrate solution is added to the wells and the color develops in proportion to the amount of ATGL bound in the initial step. The color development is stopped, and the intensity of the color is measured.
Background: ATGL is a rate-limiting lipase in mammals, fruit flies, and yeast. It has very high substrate specificity for triacylglycerol (triglyceride) and catalyzes the first reaction of lipolysis, in which triacylglycerol is hydrolyzed into diacylglycerol (diglyceride). It is a key enzyme in maintaining the balance between lipid mobilization and lipid storage and affects various functions.
Synonyms: PNPLA2; Patatin-like phospholipase domain containing 2; Patatin like domain 2, triacylglycerol lipase; Triglyceride hydrolase
Applications: Chicken adipose triglyceride lipase (ATGL) ELISA kit is an important tool for the quantitative detection of ATGL in various biological samples (serum, plasma, and other biological fluids) of chicken.
Research Area: Signal transduction; Lipid metabolism; Obesity research
