Product Overview

Description: Pig estrogen receptor (ER) ELISA kit is an ELISA-based in vitro research tool designed specifically for the quantitative detection of ER in pig with a range of 0.625-40 ng/mL and a specificity of <0.255 ng/mL.
Assay Principle: The microtiter plate provided in this kit is pre-coated with an antibody specific for the target antigen. Standards or samples are then added to the appropriate microtiter plate wells along with a biotin-conjugated antibody preparation specific to the target antigen, and avidin conjugated to horseradish peroxidase (HRP) is then added to each microtiter plate well and incubated. TMB substrate solution is then added to each well. Only wells containing the target antigen, biotin-conjugated antibody, and enzyme-conjugated avidin will show a color change. The enzyme-substrate reaction is terminated by the addition of sulfuric acid solution, and the color change is then measured spectrophotometrically at 450 nm ± 2 nm. The OD of the sample is then compared to a standard curve to determine the concentration of the target antigen in the sample.
Background: ER is a ligand-activated transcription factor composed of several domains important for hormone binding, DNA binding, and activation of transcription. Estrogens and their receptors play roles in sexual development, reproductive functions, bone, and other tissues. ERs are associated with various pathological processes.
Synonyms: Estradiol receptor; Oestrogen receptor; Receptors, Estrogen
Applications: Pig estrogen receptor (ER) ELISA kit is used to quantify ER in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates, and other biological fluid samples of pig, providing data to support a wide range of studies.
Research Area: Endocrinology
