Product Overview
Description:
Mouse cytochrome C (CYCS) ELISA kit is an ELISA-based in vitro research tool designed specifically for the quantitative detection of CYCS in mouse with a range of 1.56-100 ng/mL and a specificity of 0.62 ng/mL.
Assay Principle:
The microtiter plates in this kit are pre-coated with an antibody specific for CYCS. Standards or samples are then added to the appropriate microtiter plate wells along with a biotin-conjugated antibody specific for CYCS. Avidin conjugated to horseradish peroxidase (HRP) is then added to each microplate well and incubated. Upon addition of the TMB substrate solution, only the wells containing CYCS, biotin-conjugated antibody, and enzyme-conjugated avidin will show a color change. The enzyme-substrate reaction is terminated by the addition of sulfuric acid solution, and the color change is then measured spectrophotometrically at 450 nm ± 10 nm. The concentration of CYCS in the sample is then determined by comparing the OD of the sample to a standard curve.
Background:
CYCS is a mitochondrial protein that plays a vital role in the electron transport chain for ATP production and, upon release into the cytoplasm, initiates apoptosis.
Synonyms:
CYC; HCS; THC4; Cytochrome c, somatic; Cytochrome complex; cyt c
