Description: Mouse adiponectin (ADP) ELISA kit (15.625-1000 pg/mL) is a ready-to-use ELISA kit for analyzing mouse ADP levels with a detection range of 15.625-1000 pg/mL and a sensitivity of 9.375 pg/mL.

Assay Principle: The kit is based on a sandwich ELISA technique. The anti-mouse ADP antibody is pre-coated on a 96-well plate. The detection antibody is a biotin-conjugated anti-mouse ADP antibody. Standards, test samples, and biotin-conjugated detection antibody are subsequently added to the wells and washed with buffer. HRP-streptavidin is added, and the unbound conjugate is washed away with washing solution. TMB substrate is used to observe the HRP enzymatic reaction. TMB produces a blue product catalyzed by HRP, which turns yellow upon addition of an acidic termination solution. The density of yellow color is proportional to the amount of mouse ADP sample captured in the plate. The concentration of mouse ADP can be calculated by reading the absorbance of the external standard method at 450nm using a microplate reader.

Background: ADP is an important adipokine involved in the regulation of fat metabolism and insulin sensitivity, exhibiting antidiabetic, anti-atherosclerotic, and anti-inflammatory properties. It increases glucose utilization and fatty acid burning, stimulates AMPK phosphorylation and activation in liver and skeletal muscle, and may play a role in cell growth, angiogenesis, and tissue remodeling.
