Product Overview
Description:
Monkey glucagon-like peptide 2 (GLP-2) ELISA kit (0.5-10 ng/mL) is an ELISA-based in vitro research tool designed specifically for the quantitative detection of GLP-2 in monkey samples with a range of 0.5-10 ng/mL and a minimum detectable dose (sensitivity) of 0.1 ng/mL. The kit is highly sensitive and easy to use.
Assay Principle:
The GLP-2 ELISA kit employs a competitive enzyme immunoassay technique. A monoclonal anti-GLP-2 antibody and a GLP-2-HRP conjugate are incubated with the sample and buffer in a pre-coated plate for one hour. Endogenous GLP-2 and the GLP-2-HRP conjugate compete for a limited number of antibody binding sites. After incubation, the wells are washed five times. Subsequently, an HRP substrate is added, forming a blue complex that turns yellow upon the addition of a stop solution. The color intensity, measured at 450 nm, is inversely proportional to the GLP-2 concentration. A standard curve is plotted to relate the O.D. to the standard concentrations, from which the sample GLP-2 levels are interpolated.
Background:
GLP-2, as an incretin, primarily functions to promote intestinal growth and nutrient absorption. Recent studies have revealed that GLP-2's association with obesity primarily manifests through its regulatory effects on intestinal barrier function and the gut microbiome. By improving gut health, GLP-2 may indirectly influence metabolism. Furthermore, ongoing research is exploring the potential applications of GLP-2 and its analogues in regulating fat metabolism and energy expenditure, offering new avenues for obesity treatment.
Synonyms:
Glp2; GLP2
