Product Overview

Description: LipoKnoxa™ Human APOE shRNA AAV Particle (Silencing) provides a specialized solution for silencing apolipoprotein E, a key ligand in the clearance of triglyceride-rich lipoproteins. Engineered with both U6 and miR30-based shRNA systems, this tool enables the investigation of dyslipidemia and atherosclerosis. A wide array of AAV serotypes is available for selection to achieve high-efficiency transduction. Every batch is subjected to rigorous QC validation—including functional titer and sequence accuracy checks—to ensure repeatable results.

Handling Notes: To prevent titer loss caused by repeated freeze-thaw cycles, we recommend aliquoting the virus into single-use volumes upon receipt. Summary: APOE encodes a major apolipoprotein that is essential for the normal catabolism (breakdown and clearance) of triglyceride-rich lipoprotein remnants, particularly those derived from chylomicrons and VLDL. APOE binds to specific receptors on the liver and peripheral cells, acting as the recognition marker necessary for cellular uptake. The gene is located in a cluster on chromosome 19 with other related apolipoproteins (C1 and C2). Specific mutations in APOE result in familial dysbetalipoproteinemia (Type III hyperlipoproteinemia), a disorder characterized by the impaired clearance of these remnants, leading to elevated plasma cholesterol and triglyceride levels.
