Product Overview
Description:
Human very low-density lipoprotein receptor (VLDLR) ELISA kit (12.5-800 ng/mL) is an ELISA-based in vitro research tool designed specifically for the quantitative detection of VLDLR in human samples with a range of 12.5-800 ng/mL and a minimum detectable dose (sensitivity) of 3.12 ng/mL. The kit is highly sensitive and easy to use.
Assay Principle:
The microtiter plate provided in this kit is pre-coated with an antibody specific to VLDLR. Standards or samples are added to the designated wells along with a biotin-conjugated polyclonal detection antibody and an avidin-HRP conjugate. After incubation, a TMB substrate solution is added. Color development occurs only in wells containing the VLDLR-biotin-avidin complex. The reaction is terminated with a sulphuric acid solution, and the absorbance is measured at 450 nm ± 2 nm. The concentration of VLDLR is then calculated by comparing the sample O.D. values against the standard curve.
Background:
VLDLR, situated at chromosomal location 9p24, is a multifunctional transmembrane receptor essential for the clathrin-mediated endocytosis of VLDL and the orchestration of Reelin-driven signaling pathways during nervous system development. While its genetic defects are primarily linked to CMARQ1, characterized by cerebellar hypoplasia and developmental delays, its metabolic role is critical for lipid transport and systemic cholesterol homeostasis.
Synonyms:
VLDL-R
Applications:
