Product Overview
Description:
Human transferrin receptor protein 1 (TfR1) ELISA kit-Quantitative sandwich is an ELISA-based in vitro research tool designed specifically for the quantitative detection of TfR1 in human samples with a range of 3.12-200 ng/mL and a minimum detectable dose (sensitivity) of 1 ng/mL. The kit is highly sensitive and easy to use.
Assay Principle:
The microtiter plate provided in this kit has been pre-coated with an antibody specific to TfR11. Standards or samples are introduced into the designated microtiter plate wells along with a biotin-conjugated polyclonal detection antibody specific for TfR1. Subsequently, avidin-conjugated HRP is added to each microplate well and incubated. After the addition of TMB substrate solution, only wells containing the TfR1 sandwich complex (antigen, biotin-conjugated antibody, and enzyme-conjugated avidin) will exhibit a colorimetric change. The enzymatic reaction is terminated by a sulphuric acid solution, and the absorbance is measured spectrophotometrically at a wavelength of 450 nm ± 2 nm. The concentration of TfR1 in the samples is then determined by comparing the optical density (O.D.) of the samples to the established standard curve.
Background:
Transferrin Receptor 1 (TfR1) is a ubiquitously expressed cell surface glycoprotein whose primary function is to mediate the endocytic uptake of iron in the form of transferrin. TfR1 expression levels correlate positively with cellular iron demand. It exerts effects on iron homeostasis and inflammation and exhibits an association with obesity.
Synonyms:
Cluster of differentiation 71; CD71; TFRC; CD71; T9; TFR; TR; TRFR
