Product Overview
Description:
Human insulin like growth factor binding protein 2 (IGFBP-2) ELISA kit (0.5-10 ng/mL) is an ELISA-based in vitro research tool designed specifically for the quantitative detection of IGFBP-2 in human samples with a range of 0.5-10 ng/mL and a minimum detectable dose (sensitivity) of 0.1 ng/mL. The kit is highly sensitive and easy to use.
Assay Principle:
The IGFBP-2 ELISA kit utilizes the quantitative sandwich enzyme immunoassay technique. The microtiter plate is pre-coated with a monoclonal antibody specific for IGFBP-2. Standards or samples are added to the wells to bind with the immobilized antibody. To quantify the analyte, an HRP-conjugated polyclonal antibody specific for IGFBP-2 is added to form a "sandwich" complex. Following incubation and thorough washing, substrate solutions are added. The enzymatic reaction produces a color change measured at 450 nm, and concentrations are interpolated from a standard curve relating O.D. to standard concentrations.
Background:
IGFBP-2 is a multifunctional molecule that plays a crucial role in human growth, metabolism, and cellular processes by regulating the biological activity of insulin-like growth factors (IGFs). Primarily through binding to IGF proteins, IGFBP-2 prolongs their half-life in the body and modulates their interactions with cell surface receptors, thereby inhibiting or enhancing the pro-growth effects of IGFs. The role of IGFBP-2 in obesity has garnered increasing attention. Its reduced levels are closely associated with obesity, dyslipidemia, and insulin resistance.
Synonyms:
IBP-2; IGF-binding protein 2; IGFBP2; BP2, IBP2; Insulin-Like Growth Factor Binding Protein 2, 36kDa; Insulin-Like Growth Factor-Binding Protein 2
Applications:
Human insulin like growth factor binding protein 2 (IGFBP-2) ELISA kit (0.5-10 ng/mL) is used to quantify IGFBP-2 in serum, plasma, cell culture supernatants, body fluid, and tissue homogenate of human, providing data to support research in a wide range of areas, including immunity, endocrinology, signal transduction, obesity, and others.
