Product Overview
Description:
Human insulin (INS) ELISA kit (0.78-50 μIU/mL) is an ELISA-based in vitro research tool designed specifically for the quantitative detection of INS in human samples with a range of 0.78-50 μIU/mL and a minimum detectable dose (sensitivity) of 0.47 μIU/mL. The kit is highly sensitive and easy to use.
Assay Principle:
This kit employs the sandwich-ELISA principle for the detection of Human INS. The provided microplate is pre-coated with a human INS-specific antibody. Standards or samples are added to the wells, followed by the sequential addition of a biotinylated detection antibody and an avidin-HRP conjugate. After washing away free components, a substrate solution is added to generate a blue color in positive wells. The reaction is stopped, turning the solution yellow, and the O.D. at 450 nm is measured. The O.D. value is directly proportional to the concentration of human INS.
Background:
INS is a hormone composed of an A chain and a B chain linked by two disulfide bonds. Secreted by the pancreas, it functions as a key regulator of metabolism within the body. Its primary role is to lower blood glucose levels by promoting glucose uptake into cells. INS is fundamentally linked to obesity through its role in energy metabolism and its relationship with insulin resistance. By targeting the insulin receptor signaling pathway and the diverse metabolic processes it regulates, researchers can develop novel anti-obesity therapies.
Synonyms:
Pancreatic insulin
