Product Overview
Description:
Human glucagon-like peptide 1 receptor (GLP-1R) ELISA kit (0.156-10.0 ng/mL) is an ELISA-based in vitro research tool designed specifically for the quantitative detection of GLP-1R in human samples with a range of 0.156-10.0 ng/mL. The kit is highly sensitive and easy to use.
Assay Principle:
The microtiter plate provided in this kit is pre-immobilized with an antibody specific to GLP-1R. Standards or samples are added to the wells along with a biotin-conjugated polyclonal antibody and avidin-HRP. Following incubation, a TMB substrate solution is introduced. Color development occurs only in wells containing the GLP-1R sandwich complex. The enzymatic reaction is halted by adding a sulphuric acid solution, and the color change is measured spectrophotometrically at 450 nm ± 2 nm. The concentration of GLP-1R in the samples is determined by comparing the O.D. of the samples to the standard curve.
Background:
GLP-1R is a G protein-coupled receptor located on the cell membrane. It serves as the primary receptor for the endogenous hormone GLP-1 and is widely distributed across multiple tissues, including pancreatic β-cells, the hypothalamus, the gastrointestinal tract, and the heart. When GLP-1 binds to and activates the GLP-1R, it initiates a series of intracellular signaling pathways that influence insulin secretion, blood glucose homeostasis, appetite, and gastrointestinal motility. The GLP-1R plays a pivotal role in obesity treatment and is currently one of the most effective and sought-after targets for anti-obesity drugs. Activating this receptor transmits potent satiety signals to the brain, effectively suppressing appetite and reducing cravings for high-calorie foods.
Synonyms:
GLP 1 receptor; GLP-1 receptor; GLP1R
