Product Overview

Description: Human ghrelin (GHRL) ELISA kit (12.35-1000 pg/mL, 4.87 pg/mL) is an ELISA-based in vitro research tool designed specifically for the quantitative detection of GHRL in human samples with a range of 12.35-1000 pg/mL and a minimum detectable dose (sensitivity) of 4.87 pg/mL. The kit is highly sensitive and easy to use.
Assay Principle: This competitive inhibition enzyme immunoassay quantitatively measures GHRL in human biological samples. A monoclonal antibody specific to GHRL is pre-coated onto the plate. Sample GHRL and a fixed amount of biotin-labeled GHRL compete for limited antibody binding sites. After washing, an avidin-HRP conjugate is added. The resulting color intensity is inversely proportional to the GHRL concentration, as higher sample levels result in less bound conjugate.
Background: Ghrelin is a peptide hormone primarily secreted by the stomach, exerting its effects by binding to the growth hormone secretagogue receptor type 1 (GHSR). It plays multiple roles in the body, but its most well-known function is regulating energy balance and appetite. Research indicates that ghrelin levels and their regulation of appetite may be abnormal in obese individuals. It is considered a key target for developing anti-obesity drugs.
Synonyms: MTLRP; Preproghrelin; Growth hormone secretagogue receptor ligand; Appetite-regulating hormone; Growth hormone-releasing peptide; Motilin-related peptide
Applications: Human ghrelin (GHRL) ELISA kit (12.35-1000 pg/mL, 4.87 pg/mL) is used to quantify GHRL in serum, plasma, Tissue homogenates, Cell lysates, Saliva, Cell culture supernates, Other biological fluids of human, providing data to support research in a wide range of areas, including signal transduction, endocrinology, gastroenterology, metabolism, obesity, and others.
