Product Overview
Description:
Human CYP21A2 ELISA kit (0.5-200 ng/mL) is an ELISA-based in vitro research tool designed specifically for the quantitative detection of CYP21A2 in human with a range of 0.5-200 ng/mL and a specificity of 0.26 ng/mL.
Assay Principle:
The sample plate is pre-coated with human CYP21A2 antibody. CYP21A2 in the sample binds to the antibody coated on the wells upon addition. Biotinylated human CYP21A2 Antibody is then added and binds to CYP21A2 in the sample. Streptavidin-HRP is then added and binds to the biotinylated CYP21A2 antibody. After incubation, unbound streptavidin-HRP is washed out in a wash step. The substrate solution is then added, and the color is developed in proportion to the amount of human CYP21A2 present. The reaction is terminated by the addition of an acidic termination solution, and the absorbance is measured at 450 nm.
Background:
CYP21A2 belongs to the Cytochrome P450 family and is essential for the adrenal synthesis of mineralocorticoids and glucocorticoids. Deficiency of this enzyme is associated with certain diseases.
Synonyms:
Cytochrome P450 family 21 subfamily A polypeptide 2; Steroid 21-hydroxylase; 21-OHase; EC 1.14.14.16
