Product Overview
Description:
Monkey insulin (INS) ELISA kit (10-160 μIU/mL) is an ELISA-based in vitro research tool designed specifically for the quantitative detection of INS in monkey samples with a range of 10-160 μIU/mL and a minimum detectable dose (sensitivity) of <2 μIU/mL. The kit is highly sensitive and easy to use.
Assay Principle:
This kit utilizes a streamlined quantitative sandwich enzyme immunoassay technique, featuring a microplate pre-coated with a capture antibody specific for INS. Standards and samples are pipetted into the wells and incubated simultaneously with a HRP-conjugated detection antibody to form a "sandwich" complex in a single step or sequential format. Following a wash step to remove all unbound reagents, a substrate solution is added to initiate color development, the intensity of which is directly proportional to the amount of INS initially bound to the plate. The reaction is halted, and the color intensity is measured, providing a rapid and precise determination of INS levels based on the resulting spectrophotometric data.
Background:
INS is a hormone composed of an A chain and a B chain linked by two disulfide bonds. Secreted by the pancreas, it functions as a key regulator of metabolism within the body. Its primary role is to lower blood glucose levels by promoting glucose uptake into cells. INS is fundamentally linked to obesity through its role in energy metabolism and its relationship with insulin resistance. By targeting the insulin receptor signaling pathway and the diverse metabolic processes it regulates, researchers can develop novel anti-obesity therapies.

Pancreatic insulin
