Description: Human aldo-keto reductase family 1 member C3 (AKR1C3) ELISA kit (0.156-10 ng/mL, 0.094 ng/mL) is an ELISA-based in vitro research tool designed specifically for the quantitative detection of AKR1C3 in human with a range of 0.156-10 ng/mL and a specificity of 0.094 ng/mL.

Assay Principle: The capture antibody is pre-coated on a 96-well plate. A biotin-conjugated antibody is used as the detection antibody. Standards, assay samples, and biotin-conjugated detection antibodies are subsequently added to the wells and washed with washing solution. HRP-streptavidin is added, and the unbound conjugate is washed away with washing solution. TMB substrate is used to visualize the HRP enzymatic reaction. TMB produces a blue product catalyzed by HRP, which turns yellow upon addition of an acidic termination solution. The density of the yellow color is proportional to the amount of target sample captured in the plate. The concentration of the target can be calculated by reading the absorbance of the external standard at 450 nm with a microplate reader.

Background: AKR1C3 is a steroidogenic enzyme that catalyzes the conversion of aldehydes and ketones into alcohols and belongs to the aldo/keto reductase family. Studies have found that it may be associated with certain pathological processes.
