Product Overview

Description: Horse carnitine O-palmitoyltransferase 1, liver isoform (CPT1A) ELISA kit is an ELISA-based in vitro research tool designed specifically for the quantitative detection of CPT1A in horse. The kit is highly specific, sensitive, and easy to use.
Assay Principle: An antibody specific for CPT1A has been pre-coated onto a microtiter plate. Standards and samples are pipetted into the wells, and any CPT1A will be bound by the immobilized antibody. After removal of unbound material, a biotin-conjugated antibody specific for CPT1A is added to the wells. After washing, streptavidin-conjugated horseradish peroxidase (HRP) is added to the wells. After washing to remove unbound avidin-enzyme reagent, a substrate solution is added to the wells, and the color develops in proportion to the amount of CPT1A bound in the first step. The color development is stopped, and the color intensity is measured.
Background: CPT1A, the liver isoform of carnitine O-palmitoyltransferase 1, is the rate-limiting enzyme located in the mitochondrial outer membrane that controls the transport of long-chain fatty acids into mitochondria for beta-oxidation.
