Product Overview
Description:
Cat C-reactive protein (CRP) ELISA kit is an ELISA-based in vitro research tool designed specifically for the quantitative detection of CRP in cats.
Assay Principle:
CRP in the sample reacts with anti-CRP antibody adsorbed on the surface of microwells. After the unbound protein is removed by washing, anti-CRP antibodies conjugated to horseradish peroxidase (HRP) are added. These enzyme-labeled antibodies form a complex with the previously bound CRP. After another washing step, the chromogenic substrate TMB is added to detect the enzyme bound to the immunosorbent. The amount of bound enzyme is directly related to the concentration of CRP in the test sample. Therefore, the absorbance at 450 nm is a measure of the concentration of CRP in the test sample. The amount of CRP in the test sample can be extrapolated from a standard curve based on standards and corrected for sample dilution.
Background:
CRP is an acute-phase protein of hepatic origin, whose circulating concentrations rise in response to inflammation. It is considered a key plasma protein that can bind to Leptin, and its potential role in regulating leptin's function in obesity is crucial.
Synonyms:
Pentraxin-related; pentraxin 1; C-RP; PTX1
