Product Overview
Description:
Canine neuroendocrine secretory protein 55 (NESP55) ELISA kit is an ELISA-based in vitro research tool designed specifically for the quantitative detection of NESP55 in canine samples. The kit is highly sensitive and easy to use.
Assay Principle:
This assay employs a two-site sandwich ELISA technique to quantify NESP55. A microplate is pre-coated with an antibody specific to NESP55. Standards and samples are pipetted into the wells, where NESP55 is captured by the immobilized antibody. After washing away unbound substances, a biotin-conjugated detection antibody specific for NESP55 is added. Following another wash, streptavidin-conjugated HRP is introduced. After a final wash to remove any unbound reagents, a substrate solution is added; color develops in direct proportion to the amount of NESP55 bound in the initial step. The reaction is terminated, and the color intensity is measured.
Background:
NESP55 is a protein expressed in multiple neuroendocrine tissues, particularly in the pancreas, adrenal medulla, and hypothalamus. It belongs to a protein family known as NESP, whose members are genetically closely linked and whose expression is regulated by a specific epigenetic mechanism—imprinted genes. As an imprinted gene product, its expression is influenced by parental origin and may serve as a potential regulator of energy balance, obesity, and others.
