Product Overview
Description:
Canine growth hormone (GH) ELISA kit (3.12-50 ng/mL) is an ELISA-based in vitro research tool designed specifically for the quantitative detection of GH in canine samples with a range of 3.12-50 ng/mL and a minimum detectable dose (sensitivity) of 3.12 ng/mL. The kit is highly sensitive and easy to use.
Assay Principle:
This kit employs the competitive inhibition enzyme immunoassay technique. The microtiter plate is pre-coated with an antibody specific to GH. Standards or samples are added to the wells along with biotin-conjugated GH. A competitive inhibition reaction is initiated between the sample GH and the biotin-conjugated GH for the pre-coated antibody. After washing, streptavidin-HRP is added. The resulting color development is inversely proportional to the amount of GH in the sample, as higher sample concentrations result in less bound biotin-conjugate.
Background:
Growth hormone (GH) is a crucial endocrine hormone that plays a key role in growth regulation and metabolic control. It primarily promotes bodily growth by stimulating the liver and other tissues to secrete insulin-like growth factor-1 (IGF-1), while also enhancing amino acid uptake and protein synthesis. Deficiencies in GH can lead to growth hormone deficiency disorders, such as dwarfism. Research indicates that GH induces lipolysis through direct lipolytic effects in adipose tissue and influences obesity to a certain extent.
Synonyms:
GH1; GH-N; GHN; hGH-N; Somatotropin; Hygetropin; Jintropin; Kigtropin; Pituitary growth hormone; Growth hormone, normal
