Product Overview

Description: Canine growth hormone binding protein (GHBP) ELISA kit is an ELISA-based in vitro research tool designed specifically for the quantitative detection of GHBP in canine samples with a minimum detectable dose (sensitivity) of 1.0 pmol/mL. The kit is highly sensitive and easy to use.
Assay Principle: This GHBP ELISA kit utilizes a competitive enzyme immunoassay technique featuring a monoclonal anti-GHBP antibody and a GHBP-HRP conjugate. Samples and assay buffer are incubated with the GHBP-HRP conjugate in a pre-coated microplate for one hour. During this process, endogenous GHBP from the sample competes with the GHBP-HRP conjugate for a limited number of antibody binding sites. Following incubation, the wells are washed five times. An HRP substrate is then introduced, forming a blue complex that turns yellow upon the addition of a stop solution. The absorbance is measured spectrophotometrically at 450 nm. The color intensity is inversely proportional to the GHBP concentration. A standard curve is plotted to relate the O.D. to standard concentrations, from which the GHBP level in each sample is interpolated.
Background: GHBP is a protein found in the blood that specifically binds to growth hormone (GH). Studies have revealed abnormal GHBP levels in obese patients. GHBP level testing is employed to investigate GH function and pathological mechanisms such as obesity.
Synonyms: GHR; Growth hormone receptor; Somatotropin receptor; Serum-binding protein
Applications: Canine growth hormone binding protein (GHBP) ELISA kit is used to quantify GHBP in serum, plasma, cell culture supernatants, body fluid, and tissue homogenate of canine, providing data to support research in a wide range of areas, including enzyme & kinase, metabolism, obesity, and others.
