Product Overview
Description:
Canine C-reactive protein (CRP) ELISA kit (0.313-20 ng/mL) is an ELISA-based in vitro research tool designed specifically for the quantitative detection of CRP in canines with a range of 0.313-20 ng/mL and a specificity of 0.188 ng/mL.
Assay Principle:
The capture antibody is pre-coated on a 96-well plate. A biotin-conjugated antibody is then used as the detection antibody. Standards, assay samples, and biotin-conjugated detection antibodies are then added to the wells and washed with buffer. HRP-streptavidin is added, and the unbound conjugate is washed away with washing solution. TMB substrate is used to visualize the HRP enzyme reaction. TMB produces a blue product catalyzed by HRP, which turns yellow upon addition of an acidic termination solution. The density of the yellow color is proportional to the amount of target sample captured in the plate. The concentration of the target can be calculated by reading the absorbance at 450 nm with a microplate reader.
Background:
CRP is an acute-phase protein of hepatic origin, whose circulating concentrations rise in response to inflammation. It is considered a key plasma protein that can bind to Leptin, and its potential role in regulating leptin's function in obesity is crucial.
Synonyms:
Pentraxin-related; pentraxin 1; C-RP; PTX1
