Product Overview
Description:
Bovine metalloendopeptidase OMA1, mitochondrial (OMA1) ELISA kit is an ELISA-based in vitro research tool designed specifically for the quantitative detection of OMA1 in porcine samples. The kit is highly sensitive and easy to use.
Assay Principle:
The ELISA analytical biochemical technique is based on OMA1 antibody-OMA1 antigen interactions (immunosorbency) and an HRP colorimetric detection system to detect OMA1 antigen targets in samples.
Background:
OMA1 is a mitochondrial inner membrane protease primarily functioning to hydrolyze the mitochondrial dynamics protein OPA1, thereby regulating mitochondrial fusion and the integrity of the mitochondrial intermembrane space. Under conditions of nutritional excess or metabolic stress, OMA1 is activated, leading to impaired mitochondrial fusion associated with insulin resistance and β-cell dysfunction. OMA1 activity represents a critical cellular response to metabolic stress and determines cellular fate (survival or apoptosis).
Synonyms:
Overlapping with the m-AAA protease 1 homolog
EC NO.:
3.4.24.-
Applications:
Bovine metalloendopeptidase OMA1, mitochondrial (OMA1) ELISA kit is used to quantify OMA1 in bovine samples, providing data to support research in a wide range of areas, including mitochondrial function, etc.
