Product Overview
Description:
Guinea pig very low-density lipoprotein receptor (VLDLR) ELISA kit-Quantitative competitive is an ELISA-based in vitro research tool designed specifically for the quantitative detection of VLDLR in guinea pig samples with a minimum detectable dose (sensitivity) of 0.1 ng/mL. The kit is highly sensitive and easy to use.
Assay Principle:
This VLDLR ELISA kit employs a competitive enzyme immunoassay technique using an anti-VLDLR antibody and a VLDLR-HRP conjugate. Samples and assay buffers are incubated with the VLDLR-HRP conjugate in a pre-coated microplate for one hour. During this time, VLDLR from the sample competes with the HRP-labeled conjugate for a limited number of antibody binding sites. After the incubation, the wells are washed five times to remove unbound material. An HRP-specific substrate is then introduced to form a blue complex, which turns yellow upon the addition of a stop solution. The resulting color intensity, measured at 450 nm, is inversely proportional to the VLDLR concentration. A standard curve is plotted to interpolate the quantitative value of VLDLR for each sample.
Background:
VLDLR, situated at chromosomal location 9p24, is a multifunctional transmembrane receptor essential for the clathrin-mediated endocytosis of VLDL and the orchestration of Reelin-driven signaling pathways during nervous system development. While its genetic defects are primarily linked to CMARQ1, characterized by cerebellar hypoplasia and developmental delays, its metabolic role is critical for lipid transport and systemic cholesterol homeostasis.
Synonyms:
VLDL-R
