Product Overview
Description:
Sheep cocaine- and amphetamine-regulated transcript (non-HGNC gene) (CART) ELISA kit is an ELISA-based in vitro research tool designed specifically for the quantitative detection of CART in sheep. The kit is highly sensitive.
Assay Principle:
The kit is based on a CART antibody-CART antigen interaction (immunosorbent) and an HRP colorimetric detection system to detect CART antigen targets in samples.
Background:
CART is processed by prohormone/proprotein convertases to produce smaller, biologically active peptides and is considered to be involved in the regulation of appetite and stress. Its function is closely related to the actions of Leptin and Neuropeptide Y. Mutations in the gene are associated with obesity susceptibility.
Synonyms:
CARTPT
Applications:
Sheep cocaine- and amphetamine-regulated transcript (non-HGNC gene) (CART) ELISA kit is an important tool for the quantitative detection of CART in various biological samples (serum, plasma, cell culture supernatants, body fluid, tissue homogenate) of sheep.
Research Area:
Appetite regulation; Signal regulation; Obesity research
