Product Overview
Description:
Rat neuropeptide Y receptor Y5 (NPY5R) ELISA kit-Quantitative sandwich is an ELISA-based in vitro research tool designed specifically for the quantitative detection of NPY5R in rat samples with a range of 0.156-10 ng/mL and a minimum detectable dose (sensitivity) of 0.051 ng/mL. The kit is highly sensitive and easy to use.
Assay Principle:
The microtiter plate provided in this kit has been pre-coated with an antibody specific to NPY5R. Standards or samples are then added to the designated microtiter plate wells along with a biotin-conjugated antibody specific to NPY5R. Next, avidin conjugated to HRP is added to each well and incubated. After the TMB substrate solution is introduced, color changes will only be observed in wells containing NPY5R, the biotinylated antibody, and the enzyme-conjugated avidin. The reaction is terminated by a sulphuric acid solution, and the color intensity is recorded spectrophotometrically at 450 nm ± 10 nm. The concentration of NPY5R in each sample is calculated by comparing the O.D. of the samples to the standard curve.
Background:
NPY5R is a G protein-coupled receptor that binds to neuropeptide Y (NPY) and peptide YY (PYY). These are key signaling molecules regulating appetite within the brain. When NPY5R is activated, it inhibits adenylate cyclase activity via its G protein, thereby triggering cellular responses. As a central control point regulating appetite and feeding behavior, it serves as a critical target in obesity research.
Synonyms:
NPY-Y5 receptor
