Product Overview
Description:
Rat insulin (INS) ELISA kit (78.125-5000 pg/mL) is an ELISA-based in vitro research tool designed specifically for the quantitative detection of INS in rat samples with a range of 78.125-5000 pg/mL and a minimum detectable dose (sensitivity) of 46.875 pg/mL. The kit is highly sensitive and easy to use.
Assay Principle:
This kit is based on sandwich enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay technology. A capture antibody is pre-coated onto a 96-well plate, and a biotin-conjugated antibody is utilized for detection. Standards, samples, and the biotinylated detection antibody are added sequentially to the wells and washed with a dedicated buffer. HRP-streptavidin is then introduced, followed by further washing. TMB substrate is used to visualize the enzymatic reaction, producing a blue product that shifts to yellow upon acidification. The density of the yellow color is proportional to the amount of target analyte captured, allowing for concentration calculation via O.D. measurement at 450 nm.
Background:
INS is a hormone composed of an A chain and a B chain linked by two disulfide bonds. Secreted by the pancreas, it functions as a key regulator of metabolism within the body. Its primary role is to lower blood glucose levels by promoting glucose uptake into cells. INS is fundamentally linked to obesity through its role in energy metabolism and its relationship with insulin resistance. By targeting the insulin receptor signaling pathway and the diverse metabolic processes it regulates, researchers can develop novel anti-obesity therapies.
Synonyms:
Pancreatic insulin
Applications:
Rat insulin (INS) ELISA kit (78.125-5000 pg/mL) is used to quantify INS in serum, plasma, cell culture supernatant, cell or tissue lysate, and other liquid samples of rat, providing data to support research in a wide range of areas, including metabolic pathway, endocrinology, hormone metabolism, obesity, etc.
