Description: Rat adiponectin (ADP) mini samples ELISA kit (0.312-20 ng/mL) is a ready-to-use ELISA kit for analyzing rat ADP levels with a detection range of 0.312-20 ng/mL and a sensitivity of <0.134 ng/mL.

Assay Principle: The microtiter plate supplied in this kit is pre-coated with an antibody specific for ADP. Standards or samples are then added to the corresponding microtiter plate wells along with a biotin-conjugated antibody specific for ADP. Avidin conjugated to HRP is then added to each microtiter well and incubated. Upon addition of the TMB substrate solution, only wells containing ADP, biotin-conjugated antibody, and enzyme-conjugated avidin will show a color change. The enzyme-substrate reaction is terminated by the addition of sulfuric acid solution, and the color change is then measured spectrophotometrically at 450 nm ± 10 nm. The concentration of ADP in the sample can then be determined by comparing the OD of the sample to a standard curve.

Background: ADP is an important adipokine involved in the regulation of fat metabolism and insulin sensitivity, exhibiting antidiabetic, anti-atherosclerotic, and anti-inflammatory properties. It increases glucose utilization and fatty acid burning, stimulates AMPK phosphorylation and activation in liver and skeletal muscle, and may play a role in cell growth, angiogenesis, and tissue remodeling.
