Description:
Rat 3 beta-hydroxysteroid dehydrogenase/delta 5-->4-isomerase type 1 (HSD3B1) ELISA kit (0.156-10 ng/mL) is an ELISA-based in vitro research tool designed specifically for the quantitative detection of HSD3B1 in rat samples with a range of 0.156-10 ng/mL and a minimum detectable dose (sensitivity) of <0.063 ng/mL. The kit is highly sensitive and easy to use.
Assay Principle:
The microtiter plate provided in this kit is pre-coated with an antibody specific to HSD3B1. Standards or samples are added to the wells along with a biotin-conjugated antibody preparation. Subsequently, avidin-HRP is added to each well and incubated. Upon the addition of TMB substrate, a color change occurs only in wells containing the HSD3B1 sandwich complex. The enzymatic reaction is terminated with a sulphuric acid solution, and the absorbance is measured spectrophotometrically at 450 nm ± 10 nm. The concentration of HSD3B1 in the samples is then determined by comparing the O.D. of the samples to the standard curve.

HSD3B1 is a bifunctional enzyme that plays a pivotal role in steroid hormone synthesis. It catalyzes key steps in multiple steroid biosynthesis pathways. Given its role in regulating metabolism and energy balance, it may serve as a potential regulator of obesity.
