Product Overview
Description:
Porcine pancreatic lipase (PL) ELISA kit (0.312-20 ng/mL) is an ELISA-based in vitro research tool designed specifically for the quantitative detection of PL in porcine samples with a range of 0.312-20 ng/mL and a minimum detectable dose (sensitivity) of <0.06 ng/mL. The kit is highly sensitive and easy to use.
Assay Principle:
This assay utilizes a typical double-sandwich ELISA technique. The microtiter plate is pre-coated with a porcine PL monoclonal antibody, and the detection antibody is a biotin-labeled polyclonal antibody. Samples and the biotinylated detection antibody are added to the wells and washed with PBS or TBS. Avidin-peroxidase conjugates are then added. Following a thorough wash cycle, TMB substrate is introduced. The resulting blue color turns yellow upon the addition of acid. The color depth is positively correlated with the concentration of the testing factors in the samples.
Background:
PL, a key member of the lipase gene family located at chromosomal position 10q26.1, is a specialized carboxyl esterase (EC 3.1.1.3) specifically expressed in the pancreas and secreted into the extracellular region. This hydrolase is essential for the efficient digestion of dietary fats, specifically driving the hydrolysis of insoluble, emulsified triglycerides into absorbable components. Beyond its primary role in lipid catabolism and cholesterol absorption, PNLIP is involved in retinoid metabolic processes and is the central molecular driver in Pancreatic Lipase Deficiency, making it a fundamental target for understanding gastrointestinal lipid digestion and its systemic impact on energy balance.
Synonyms:
PNLIP; PTL; Lipase; pancreatic; Pancreatic triacylglycerol lipase
Applications:
Porcine pancreatic lipase (PL) ELISA kit (0.312-20 ng/mL) is used to quantify PL in porcine serum, plasma, and cell culture supernatant of porcine, providing data to support research in a wide range of areas, including enzyme and kinase, metabolic pathway, Infection immunity, hepatology, obesity, and others.
