Product Overview

Description: Porcine glucagon-like peptide 1 (GLP-1) ELISA kit is an ELISA-based in vitro research tool designed specifically for the quantitative detection of GLP-1 in porcine samples with a range of 15.6-1000 pg/mL and a minimum detectable dose (sensitivity) of up to 5 pg/mL. The kit is highly sensitive and easy to use.
Assay Principle: This experiment employs the double-sandwich ELISA technique. The microplate is pre-coated with a porcine GLP-1 monoclonal antibody, and the detection antibody is a biotin-labeled polyclonal antibody. Samples and the biotinylated detection antibody are introduced into the wells and washed with PBS or TBS. Subsequently, avidin-peroxidase conjugates are added. After a final thorough wash, TMB substrate is added to visualize the reaction. The catalyzed blue product turns yellow under the action of acid. The color depth is positively correlated with the concentration of porcine GLP-1 present in the specimen.
Background: GLP-1 is a peptide hormone secreted by enteroendocrine cells in the gut. It belongs to the incretin family, primarily released after meals, and regulates blood glucose and energy balance through multiple pathways. GLP-1 is considered a “satiety” hormone because it signals the brain to reduce appetite. It plays a crucial role in obesity treatment and is currently one of the most promising and effective drug targets for anti-obesity medications.
Synonyms: GLP1; Glucagon like peptide 1; Glp1
Applications: Porcine glucagon-like peptide 1 (GLP-1) ELISA kit is used to quantify GLP-1 in porcine serum, plasma, and cell culture supernatant of porcine, providing data to support research in a wide range of areas, including endocrinology, cardiovascular biology, hepatology, metabolism, obesity, and others.
Research Area: Endocrinology; Cardiovascular biology; Hepatology; Metabolism; Obesity
