Description: Porcine fibroblast growth factor 21 (FGF21) ELISA kit (31.25-2000 pg/mL, 13.3 pg/mL) is an ELISA-based in vitro research tool designed specifically for the quantitative detection of FGF21 in porcine samples with a range of 31.25-2000 pg/mL and a minimum detectable dose (sensitivity) of 13.3 pg/mL. The kit is highly sensitive and easy to use.

Assay Principle: The microtiter plate in this kit is pre-coated with an antibody specific to FGF21. Standards or samples are added to the wells, followed by a biotin-conjugated antibody preparation. Subsequently, avidin-HRP is introduced and incubated. After adding TMB substrate, wells containing the FGF21 complex will exhibit a color change. The reaction is stopped with sulphuric acid, and absorbance is measured at 450 nm ± 10 nm. The concentration of FGF21 in the samples is determined by interpolating the O.D. values against a standard curve.

It belongs to the fibroblast growth factor family but functions differently from traditional growth factors. FGF21 is primarily induced during stress or fasting states, acting as a crucial metabolic regulator that influences the body's energy balance, glucose homeostasis, and fatty acid metabolism.
