Description: Mouse plasminogen activator inhibitor-1 (PAI-1) ELISA kit (31.2-2000 pg/mL) is an ELISA-based in vitro research tool designed specifically for the quantitative detection of PAI-1 in mice samples with a range of 31.2-2000 pg/mL and a minimum detectable dose (sensitivity) of 12.3 pg/mL. The kit is highly sensitive and easy to use.

Assay Principle: The microplate provided in this kit is pre-coated with an antibody specific to PAI1. Standards or samples are added to the designated wells along with a biotin-conjugated detection antibody for PAI1. Next, avidin-conjugated HRP is added and incubated. Upon the addition of TMB substrate, only those wells containing the PAI1-biotin-avidin complex will exhibit a colorimetric change. The reaction is terminated with a sulphuric acid solution, and the absorbance is measured at 450 nm ± 10 nm. The PAI1 concentration is then determined by comparing the sample O.D. to the standard curve.

Background: As the primary physiological inhibitor of tissue-type plasminogen activator and urokinase-type plasminogen activator, PAI-1 exerts its effects by suppressing fibrinolysis and proteolysis. Its elevation is associated not only with thrombosis and fibrosis but also with obesity and insulin resistance.
