Product Overview
Description:
Mouse neuropeptide Y receptor Y1 (NPY1R) ELISA kit-Quantitative sandwich is an ELISA-based in vitro research tool designed specifically for the quantitative detection of NPY1R in mice samples with a range of 0.312-20 ng/mL and a minimum detectable dose (sensitivity) of 0.108 ng/mL. The kit is highly sensitive and easy to use.
Assay Principle:
The microtiter plate provided in this kit has been pre-immobilized with an antibody specific to NPY1R. Standards or samples are then added to the appropriate microtiter plate wells with a biotin-conjugated antibody preparation specific for NPY1R. Next, avidin conjugated to HRP is added to each microplate well and incubated. After the TMB substrate solution is introduced, only those wells that contain the NPY1R, biotin-conjugated antibody, and enzyme-conjugated avidin complex will exhibit a colorimetric change. The enzyme-substrate reaction is terminated by the addition of a sulphuric acid solution, and the color change is measured spectrophotometrically at a wavelength of 450 nm ± 10 nm. The concentration of NPY1R in the samples is then determined by mapping the O.D. of the samples against the established standard curve.
Background:
NPY1R is a G protein-coupled receptor that binds to neuropeptide Y (NPY) and peptide YY (PYY), both of which are key signaling molecules. This text emphasizes its specific binding preference for these peptides. NPY1R resides on the cell membrane and functions as part of signaling pathways by inhibiting adenylate cyclase activity. Its biological functions encompass regulation of feeding behavior, blood pressure control, and neuropeptide signaling. NPY1R plays a role in obesity through its regulation of appetite and energy balance within the central nervous system.
Synonyms:
NPYR; NPYY1
