Product Overview
Description:
Mouse glutamine synthetase (GS) ELISA kit is an ELISA-based in vitro research tool designed specifically for the quantitative detection of GS in mouse samples with a range of 1.56-100 pg/mL and a minimum detectable dose (sensitivity) of 0.53 pg/mL. The kit is highly sensitive and easy to use.
Assay Principle:
The microtiter plate provided in this kit is pre-coated with an antibody specific to GS. Standards or samples are added to the appropriate wells along with a biotin-conjugated detection antibody. Subsequently, avidin-HRP is introduced and incubated. Upon the addition of TMB substrate, color development occurs only in wells containing the GS sandwich complex. The enzymatic reaction is terminated with a sulphuric acid solution, and the absorbance is measured spectrophotometrically at 450 nm ± 10 nm. The concentration of GS is determined by comparing the O.D. of the samples to the standard curve.
Background:
GS is a key metabolic enzyme whose primary function is to catalyze the synthesis of glutamine from glutamate and ammonia. Glutamine is one of the most abundant amino acids in the body and plays vital roles in numerous physiological processes, including nitrogen metabolism, acid-base balance, cell proliferation, and serving as a precursor for the synthesis of other molecules. Given its potential impact on metabolic regulation and neural signaling, GS may be associated with obesity.
Synonyms:
GLNS; GLUL; Glutamate-ammonia ligase; Glutamate decarboxylase
Applications:
Mouse glutamine synthetase (GS) ELISA kit is used to quantify GS in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell lysates, cell culture supernates, and other biological fluids of mouse, providing data to support research in a wide range of areas, including enzyme & kinase, obesity, and others.
