Product Overview

Description: Mouse glucagon-like peptide 2 (GLP-2) ELISA kit (1.0 pg/mL) is an ELISA-based in vitro research tool designed specifically for the quantitative detection of GLP-2 in mouse samples with a minimum detectable dose (sensitivity) of 1.0 pg/mL. The kit is highly sensitive and easy to use.
Assay Principle: The GLP-2 ELISA kit applies a competitive enzyme immunoassay technique. An anti-GLP-2 antibody and a GLP-2-HRP conjugate are incubated with the sample for one hour in a pre-coated plate. Endogenous GLP-2 competes with the conjugate for limited binding sites. Following a five-fold wash, an HRP substrate is added. The reaction produces a blue complex that shifts to yellow upon adding a stop solution. The intensity, measured at 450 nm, is inversely proportional to the GLP-2 concentration, which is then interpolated from a standard curve.
Background: GLP-2, as an incretin, primarily functions to promote intestinal growth and nutrient absorption. Recent studies have revealed that GLP-2's association with obesity primarily manifests through its regulatory effects on intestinal barrier function and the gut microbiome. By improving gut health, GLP-2 may indirectly influence metabolism. Furthermore, ongoing research is exploring the potential applications of GLP-2 and its analogues in regulating fat metabolism and energy expenditure, offering new avenues for obesity treatment.
Synonyms: Glp2; GLP2
Applications: Mouse glucagon-like peptide 2 (GLP-2) ELISA kit (1.0 pg/mL) is used to quantify GLP-2 in serum, plasma, cell culture supernatants, body fluid, and tissue homogenate of mouse, providing data to support research in a wide range of areas, including metabolism, endocrinology, cardiovascular biology, obesity, and others.
