Product Overview
Description:
Mouse glucagon-like peptide 1 (GLP-1) ELISA kit (15.6-1000 pg/mL) is an ELISA-based in vitro research tool designed specifically for the quantitative detection of GLP-1 in mouse samples with a range of 15.6-1000 pg/mL and a minimum detectable dose (sensitivity) of up to 5 pg/mL. The kit is highly sensitive and easy to use.
Assay Principle:
As described, this kit utilizes the double antibody sandwich ELISA technique. The microplate is pre-coated with an anti-mouse GLP-1 monoclonal antibody, and the detection antibody is a biotinylated polyclonal antibody. Samples and biotinylated antibodies are added to the wells, and the wells are washed with PBS or TBS after incubation. Subsequently, avidin-peroxidase conjugates are added. After the enzyme conjugate is thoroughly washed away, TMB substrate is added for coloration. The peroxidase activity turns the TMB blue, which eventually turns yellow after the addition of the stop solution (color reagent C). The color intensity and the quantity of target analyte in the sample are positively correlated.
Background:
GLP-1 is a peptide hormone secreted by enteroendocrine cells in the gut. It belongs to the incretin family, primarily released after meals, and regulates blood glucose and energy balance through multiple pathways. GLP-1 is considered a “satiety” hormone because it signals the brain to reduce appetite. It plays a crucial role in obesity treatment and is currently one of the most promising and effective drug targets for anti-obesity medications.
Synonyms:
GLP1; Glucagon like peptide 1; Glp1
