Product Overview

Description: Mouse Ghrelin (GHRL) mini samples ELISA kit (78-5000 pg/mL) is an ELISA-based in vitro research tool designed specifically for the quantitative detection of GHRL in mouse samples with a range of 78-5000 pg/mL and a minimum detectable dose (sensitivity) of 29.2 pg/mL. The kit is highly sensitive and easy to use.
Assay Principle: This assay employs a competitive inhibition enzyme immunoassay. A monoclonal antibody for GHRL is pre-coated onto the plate. Sample GHRL and biotin-labeled GHRL compete for the immobilized antibody. Following incubation and washing, avidin-HRP is added to bind the captured biotinylated GHRL. Upon substrate addition, the color intensity is inversely proportional to the GHRL concentration; higher sample levels result in a weaker color signal.
Background: Ghrelin is a peptide hormone primarily secreted by the stomach, exerting its effects by binding to the growth hormone secretagogue receptor type 1 (GHSR). It plays multiple roles in the body, but its most well-known function is regulating energy balance and appetite. Research indicates that ghrelin levels and their regulation of appetite may be abnormal in obese individuals. It is considered a key target for developing anti-obesity drugs.
Synonyms: MTLRP; Preproghrelin; Growth hormone secretagogue receptor ligand; Appetite-regulating hormone; Growth hormone-releasing peptide; Motilin-related peptide
Applications: Mouse Ghrelin (GHRL) mini samples ELISA kit (78-5000 pg/mL) is used to quantify GHRL in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell lysates, cell culture supernates, and other biological fluids of mouse, providing data to support research in a wide range of areas, including signal transduction, endocrinology, gastroenterology, metabolism, obesity, and others.
Research Area: Signal transduction; Endocrinology; Gastroenterology; Metabolism; Obesity
